Bradford Dems Holiday Party

Saturday, January 3, 2009, Election of Barack Obama Celebration party at my house, starting at 7:00 pm. Address is 1261 Johns Drive, in Starke. Phone is 964-8175 if you get lost. If you're so inclined bring snacks or drinks. Nothing fancy.
Directions as follows:

From 100 in Starke going north towards Lake Butler, turn right onto Pratt Street. Proceed to the first stop sign and turn left, which is Bradford Street. Continue on Bradford Street until it dead-ends on Johns Drive. Turn left on Johns Drive and continue to the end of the street. I'm on the right, beige house, red brick fireplace in front.

From 301 turn right (going south) or left (going north) by Grannies. Continue on Pratt Street through the stop sign at Orange and continue through the next three stop signs. The third sign is Bradford St. Turn right onto Bradford Street and continue to the end which ends in Johns Drive, turn left. I'm at the end of Johns Drive. (Click here for map and picture)

We want to thank all of you who worked on the Obama campaign. While 70% of Bradford voters voted for McCain without your hard work that percentage may have been 80%. The Bradford Republican Party indicted before the election they thought McCain would win Bradford with 80% of the vote.

The 3 precincts we targeted produced much better results for Obama. Obama won in Precinct 2 (Lawtey) with 64% of the vote and in Precinct 7 (Reno) with 69% of the vote. In Precinct 12 which includes Lincoln City Obama received 45% of the vote.

I hope you will consider becoming involved with the Bradford Democratic Executive Committee (DEC). We need your input and support. We would like to continue registering voters and most importantly working to get voting rights restored to convicted felons who have served their time. Because getting voting rights restored can take time we need to start working now so people will be able to vote in 2010.
